dispute citi charge off and awake giant? [tradeline] [jdb]

I had two sepeate paid charge offs with Citi, to delete both by the JDB. About the time the debt was five of the six TRADELINE disappeared sold. My only derog left on TU and shows the charge with a balance. My EX and EQ are clean. If I were to deny the balance of zero would indicate, I would hope for if delete. To all professionals here, I should like TRADE LINE? I'm afraid if I can come back the other dispute. Any input is appreciated.

Reply:Hi I need help with this topic. Just recently ran into some various financial struggles and had my Citi card go 90 days due and it was IMMEDIATELY closed. My fault for sure. However I didn't find out until I started getting calls about it from CSI Collections. I am assuming this means my account is charged off by Citibank.
Is this correct?
I called the number on the back of my card and the lady informed me that this account had gone to collections and could not be reopened ( EVER!!!) but that they would still take payments.
What should I do? My credit rating sucks right now since all of my cards were rate-jacked and I have fallen from a 700 to mid-500s but I am trying to get back to where I was.
What should I do?
signed,
really depressed!

Reply:I have a letter from the JDB stating that the account is settled in full.
I have been considering disputing for a while but now that its my last derog I want to get rid of it. I think Citi meant to delete it when they sold the debt but it fell through the cracks. I do think it would help me a great amount in regards to my score by it being reported with a zero balance. Funny thing is that Hooters gave me a 2000 limit as my first unsecured visa/mc with this showing.

Reply:OK, do you have the proof that you paid this to the JDB? Copy of the money order or it's stub? Cancelled check? (I'm sorry, I know I'm asking a lot of questions, but I want to try to help). The way this is reporting is really hurting your score. You are showing a lot of money CO'd. I wouldn't worry too much about getting it added onto the other reports right now, I would focus on getting it off this one and go from there. If anything, you need it to at least report correctly. Your util. is shot to heck with that amount and other cc companies aren't going to be so eager to grant you credit IMO. I'm not an expert though, and maybe if we keep discussing it others will see and be able to give better advice. But, if you have proof maybe we can think of the best way to go about it.

Reply:DOFD was sometime in 2005. I want to dispute but I afraid they might show back up on EX and EQ.

Reply:In your original post it says date closed as 2005, when was the DOFD? Was it in 05?

Reply:Reinsertion does not apply in this situation, it was not deleted due to my dispute, it just dissapeared. PFB sounds like a decent idea. guy, did you settle with Citi or a CA/JDB?
Citibank sold this account to the JDB. I settled with the JDB for less then full balance. I do have a deletion letter from them. It is still being reported as a unpaid chargeoff by Citibank (OC). Considering the account was sold they are reporting a incorrect balance, it should show 0 and report as sold/transfered to another lender, what I really want it is a deletion. I am just afraid if I dispute then Citi may add the derog back onto my clean EX and EQ
Who is reporting this account? Citi
The CA? No
WHO did you pay? CA
HOW MUCH did you pay? Settled for less then full
WHEN did you pay? Feb
WHAT was the agreement? Settle for delete

Reply:QUOTEI had two sepeate charge offs with Citi which were both paid for delete through the JDB
But they paid a JDB not the OC. The OC is now out of the picture as they had sold OP's account. Who is reporting this account? The CA? I think we need a bit more information. WHO did you pay? HOW MUCH did you pay? WHEN did you pay? WHAT was the agreement?

Reply:if it is showing a balance and there is none, it must then be corrected by the OC through the CRA… they will probably fix it to show paid… but then if it has a negitive status then you should either request that it be deleted since it in inaccurate or not do anything as you will just bring it to the forefront… this is my understanding of what to do from reading the past month… anyone else?

Reply:You paid the JDB? For less than was owed, right? Do you have written proof of the PFD with the JDB? If not, you could probably still dispute for the inaccuracy in the way it is reporting. It is showing you Past Due when it should be at least showing pd. It's showing a HUGE balance, and the balance should be 0, so I would say this is really hurting your score. IF you can prove you paid them, I say dispute. I'm not an expert though, so hopefully some one more experienced will chime in.
GOOD LUCK!

Reply:Citi is good with paid CO's… You can PFB them and request them to delete as you had paid them and they are too old….
I did send them PFB and they deleted them as a goodwill gesture…

Reply:Im not an expert, but I think that they cant bring it back because that would be re-insertion. From the look of it if you leave it alone, you will have sacrificed a lot of points because it is reporting a high balance on a closed account making it 100% UT for that account. It also is remarkig past due.
bumping for experts.
