I know that disputes over the FACT Act free credit reports to be made can be 45, but what is done online for disputes received reports of adverse action? The rating agencies are given 45 days or 30 days for disputes is online?
p.s. I know that is challenging online discouraged.
Best Answer: They will deduct the amount you owe and refund you the rest.
Reply:Yes I did wait past the 30 days. I meant to write 3/9, which made it almost eight weeks. Given the fact that yours is a judgement and not an adress, I would probably do my communication by mail. (CMRR) Spend some time and search through the archives for like posts to yours and see what others have done. I would probably state in my letter that I do not wish for another investigation, but instead want a deletion, for going over the 30 Days. But like I said, I would spend a few hours researching previous posts, to come up with the best attack plan to suit your needs. Sorry I can't be of more help,. But figured it may be good for you to know, my experience, with the online dispute, I did.
Good Luck To You
Reply: the thing is…it's NOT legal for them to add those days…unless you give them additional information relevant to the dispute…
What action should I take next?
Reply: I just went through this. They are going to say that they have no record of your dispute. In my case this is what happened. On about 4/9 I disputed some old addresses online. Got the new confo # and such, and would always get the pending like you. Finally, I broke down last week and called them. The CSR said there was no record of it. And said he would refile my dispute. I called BS made him hold, went online and pulled up the page that said pending. Gave him the conf # and he put me on hold for about 3 minutes. Came back and said, he would refile it and it would take about 45 days. I again called BS, since it wasn't an anual free report. Then I poked, prodded, and gently shoved. He then conceded and took off the addresses. Sent me an Email the next day and they were gone. So although your MMV, that is what happened to me. An interesting side note, is that while I didn't think to ask, I swear the CSR was in India. Outsourcing is so common now, that unless I am having problems with the CSR, I don't tend to ask. If I am having problems, then I ask to be transfered to a rep in the US.
Good Luck
Did you wait for the full 30 days before calling?
I printed the confirmation page that was generated when I filed the dispute. It will also not be a problem for me to print the dispute status page which still shows a pending status. I wonder what I should do. The judgement in dispute has a notation on my CR that the entry is in dispute.
I really don't want to screw anything up by calling so they can tack on another 15 days.

Absolutely true … but you know they do it anyway.

Reply:I'll agree with you on the adding of days. However, my point was more to the fact that, considering my experience and the fact that ppl have recently not been able to dispute online, means his original dispute was probably bumped. So if it were me, I would take note of the original date of dispute and leverage that in to trying to obtain a deletion. As to me "playing in to their hands" In this case I don't see it that way. Most people here dispute addresses over the phone anyway. Which is what I would have done, if it wasn't 3 AM when I was doing it. But differant strokes for differant folks.
Reply:QUOTEI disputed a judgement online with EQ 4/11 and as of today it's still showing pending. Should I call them up regarding the status or wait until 5/16(30 days + 5 days) to see if I get anything in the mail? Would this be considered a violation?
Do not call them before the end of the dispute period.
If you do that, they can legally tack on another 15 days to the disputing period because it can be considered "additional information."
After the dispute period has passed, IF you don't get anything back, THEN you can contact them. You are otherwise asking for trouble.
And guy — by calling, you played right into their hands. A very bad move and not something that should be recommended to others.
Patience, people.

Reply: it's ONLY 45 days if you've gotten the "free" annual report under FACTA…
an adverse action report is NOT subject to the 45 days…

Reply:I'm leaning towards the following rule:
If it's a paid report straight from EX/EQ/TU, it's 30 days. (In other words, you bought your report for like $10 from their website.)
If it's a free report (FACT ACT, Adverse Action free report, denied credit free report, fraud alert free report, etc.) then it's 45 days.
